I like it, not my bag though. But, I do like that it's a little bit different though.

anyway, i like the guitar. it is different and gives jackson a MODERN guitar. the broderick sort of reminds me of my brian moore, which is a guitar that was designed for functionality and playing comfort. i like it, and depending on price/color options may pick one up. it would be nice to play a jackson live without some dingle-berry making an "80's comment.
good job jackson!!
I really like the shape, I don't know why. I would've prefered a different knob/selector placement, and maaybe the lower horn for better access/to make the shape flow more. Other than that, I really like that.
I was extremely happy when Chris came to Jackson, and now that they released this shape, I see nothing but good things in the future.

I really dig this. Better than just doing a regular Soloist, IMO.Dreaded Silence - Boston Melancholic Metal

good job jackson!!
I like Chris's new guitar but I'm not in love with it, however I think Jackson is on the right track by diversifying their collection a bit.-Metal wouldn't be the same without Pointy guitars-

I think it is a great step for Jackson. He is becoming (if not already is) a very high profile player. You can't expect everyone to love a new shape. I personally prefer the classic soloist shape, while others prefer this shape for it's uniqueness. People can be excited about news about something upcoming, and have the right to be disappointed if it wasn't what they can be expected. Was I excited to hear of a Chris Broderick sig Jackson? yep. Was I disappointed when I actually saw a pic of it? Yeah, a bit. Does it mean I'm any less of a Jackson/Broderick, etc.? Hell no.
It is a solid guitar, very refreshing....just not my style, I think. If it comes out as USA at a great price point, it may be irresistible!! I'm not gonna run out and sell any of my Jacksons because the Broderick sig wasn't what I expected...it happens! Atleast we get new models this year and not just a batch of custom shops! Props to Jackson for trying something new..and if it will be a USA 7, perhaps it will be a test run for more shapes/designs to come if it sells well.Last edited by DC_rhoads82; 01-13-2011, 03:57 PM.
