Well... I enjoy listening to it, isnt that what its all about? I dont know what all you people were expecting, but at least its different! I dont mind the way it sounds at all, really, sure is cooler sounding than all these gay-assed, over-produced speed/death metal, meedly-meedley albums everyone thinks is so great. The only thing I think really bothers me are some of the lyrics, but James is a middle aged man, and god damn it if lyrics about nukes, wolves, and pestilence dont get old. So many classic old album sound like ****, why is it so wierd that a band wanted to sound raw? Theve already taken the black album to the other extreme.

The Only Way Metallica Can Redeem Themselves:

Record new shorter versions of these songs with solos, better vocals, better production and release them for FREE on the internet for FREE download(people who paid for St. Anger got ripped off!).

Anything else.......... Metallica is DEAD!!! Geez, my local radio station isn't even playing St. Anger anymore.

Troy, it's just that Metallica hyped everyone up for 6 months about how St. Anger was a return to their roots and would be extremely brutal, then they delivered something that was anything but that. People have a right to feel they
were baited and switched. If this was the best they could do after more than 6 years, better they'd take one more year to get a decent production with some memorable solos. St.Anger is pure apathy
laziness and contempt for fans on the part of Metallica.

Put it this way Troy,
The Ventt clips you had on the old site were free, unhyped to the n'th degree by a major marketing push and a billion times more satisfying (read that "damn good") than that piece of wasted plastic Metallica just put out.

In the case of the free clips, I got far more than I paid for - In the case of ST. Wanker, Just the opposite occured.

And I'm a 'Tallica fan.

Sorry to keep this one running, but having caught a bit of the video yesterday, one question springs to my mind - What is cool about playing in a prison? Are Metallica trying to look like hardcases to impress the gangstas, or just ensuring that the audience can't walk out on them?
Maybe I'm just a naive old English fool that just doesn't understand youth culture any more. The music sucks,by the way...

The reason I don't like it is very simple. I don't like the sound of the snare. Actually the entire drum mix is horrible. I am sure the drum mix was intentional. That is what is puzzling. [img]graemlins/puke.gif[/img]
