That's why he can't remember details of things during his assaults but he can remember sending someone to jail 20 years ago and remember the details enough to state the guy was innocent and write a letter to help him get a new trial ...

That's bullshit...why give him preferential treatment due to his prior profession...his victims never had the choice with what they were dealt...I say put the fucker in general population and let him feel what it's like to be a rape victim with no control. I hope Depends are in this guys future

WHy you say that? I was just making the point that DNA evidence would be the icing on the cake and the next step would be to escort the turd to the nearest gallows.


I give you alot of respect too because if it were me I would be planning on a way to kill the guy myself. If there is any justice left in the US he will get put in the general population after conviction.

I said what I did because of the high emotion of the issue. This IS my wife we're talking about. I tend to get jumpy. But my point was that there were convictions before DNA. I understand that if he left some that it would be a full-on slam-dunk. But, he was careful enough to leave as little evidence at the scenes as possible. Remember, this is a police officer. He's got perspective that other criminals don't.

As far as planning a way to kill the guy, I've been through that emotion. I've rationalized it as this:
Everyone involved with this case has a role. The victims' role is to heal and tell their stories. The police's role is to investigate and gather the evidence. The prosecutor's role is to sift through the evidence and tell the story to the court. My role is to be there for my wife every step of the way and work to make sure it never happens to her again. I can't do that behind bars. While nobody would blame me for taking a retaliative action against him, the law doesn't justify it.

My energy is best placed towards helping Kristi move on with her life. That's not to say that while I was in court I didn't think a few times about lunging for him.

+1000 - keep that line of thought buddy. She's the most important thing right now, and she does need you with her, not behind glass with visitation rights. I admire your courage and focus, and your abiltiy to remember the important things by not letting emotions control your actions.

Youre a stronger man than I am. I would have lost it and went after him. I wish you 2 all the best and I hope you get justice soon. I still hope the man gets put into the general population. They do it with other sex offenders. They know the sex offenders will get it from the other inmates but still do it. Being a former police officer shouldnt get you any better treatment IMHO.

If he dies, he dies just one time. If he gets convicted for a long time, everyday will be torturing to him. I think it's an heavier punishment,which is better.
