Now I make my own custom picks out of Fender Heavys.

        Organic picks sound great.

Real Tortoise is no longer allowed.

I jump between playing .60 and .88mm Dunlop Tortex picks.

Just used an old Fender pick after years of using Dunlop Tortex.
Wow. Makes the string sound more like new again.
Less dull mids. More Strat sound...

Jazz III for me, mostly. Otherwise Dunlop tortex lime green and powder blue (maybe .88mm and 1.0mm respectively?). I agree that after III's, everything else seems clumsily large.

i've always used dunlop .46 nylon. with them being thin you can bend them with thumb pressure giving them degree's of curviture (more grip than a flat pleck this also increases rigidity..for those fast moments).
yeah it was me, you got a problem with that?

Actually, you can get 'em from Musician's Friend. They got the movie-quality repops as well as the more performance-friendly not-quite-so-movie-quality picks.

They'd still probably slide off my hands like a ninja throwin' some shuriken, though.

I like weird pics. I've got a couple organic picks like abalone, bone, wood. I sand em down a little and they sound great. The white one is ceramic. You will sacrifice speed for sound with these . . . and we wouldn't wanna do that . . .

COOL Picks are cool and I saw a glass pick on eBay once.

I also create my own pics of the little pieces of ZZ Top memorabilia that people spit up after eating at Chilis. Sometimes it's a difficult thing to find, but I never miss a chord.

wow, glass and ceramic. Have to get these...

Most people underestimate the effect picks have on the sound.

I also have a aluminium tecpick from dunlop.
While the wound strings have a real sharp attack, the plain strings come with more mids.

                                Anybody tried Dunlop Ultex,yet?
