The new one isn't bad, but I always thought the EBMM was the coolest.

My issue of Guitar World has the frankie painted model on it.

Did anyone see/hear what exactly the "drop to hell" bridge is and does? It's mentioned in the articles and is pictured on the frankie model, but can't find much on it....

I'd have called it the "Go to hell" tremelo but thats me. I don't know enough about it. I'll just take a Floyd.....

BTW. I don't think Eddie has "songs'. Could be wrong but I think Hagar might be right. He may have 10 zillion hours of noodling in the best "unreleased box set tradition". Julian lennon got 2 discs of his own stuff out, Jason Bonham got a couple? I don't see Wolfie pulling it off but who knows.

I have a hard time believeing Eddie can see far enough in front of him for a legacy. I think he's just broke, and needs income streams. But if the guitar is good then its worth it. Otherwise his credibility may take a real heavy hit. Can it compare favorably or evenly with an LP Axcess? (Nothing more than a slim heeled LP Custom Lite IMO). Don't know but I gonna find out.
Why the hell doesn't Eddie pick up a goddamned guitar and play something?

        Thoughts?

He actually had the rights to the SCALLOP that was on the headstock.. supposedly it was to make the headstock look like a closed tulip or rose's silouhette.. he retains ownership of the body AND the headstock.. looks to me like he took the Peavey headstock and simply gutted/cut out the scallop for this one.

Stainless steel frets? I think any guitar that costs three grand should have frets that NEVER wear out.......LOL. Soundwise? well I think if you plug it into a Soldano it won't make any difference, but if you are playing through a late 70's JMP at mid level volume without a hot plate then you may have too many highs....curious to see..(I have three heads (78 JMP 50, 87 800 50 and a 92 Soldano HR50) The JMP loves Mahogany, the 800 everyone knows, and the Soldano is like a Dimarzio pickup. The Marshalls leave you naked and thats where I'll find out what the wolfie really has (in a loud rock way).

Yep, just got an email from MF offering pre-orders - from $2999 :ROTF:

That's just crazy! Makes the Peavey one at $1699 (IIRC) look like a bargain. And I'm not bashing, I like the Wolfies (I currently have a USA special), but 3 grand?? And now that I think about it, 3 grand would have gotten you a custom built one from Peavey.

As far as GW, may as well call it EVH world. How many times has he been on the cover in the last 2-3 years? And with no new material! Just selling his latest product (Frankenstein, 5150 III, new Wolfgang), which GW seems to be happy to help with. Speaking of new material, in the latest issue (pushing the new Wolfgang of course) he again says something along the lines of having thousands of hours of new material that would blow people away. How many years has he been saying this crap? It seems like the last 5 at least. And if true, then lets frickin' hear it! Then again, if that porno soundtrack crap is any indication, maybe not. Just keep it to yourself Ed.

Sorry to rant, I swear I'm not trying to start a flame war. In fact, I'm a huge VH and EVH fan, but it's getting pretty old and sad now.

                $3k for those guitars?!?!?!? LOL

It wouldn't matter if they were $500 to me - vintage frets and 1 5/8" at the nut is not for me.

Time will tell. You never know what the future will bring- just when you think there's nothing new, just the same old same old, something new and cool comes out. I think EVH's whole marketing trip is pretty clever, I'm sure folks are collecting all his products- guitars, amps, pedals and everything else. The new guitars are expensive but will sell because there are those that have to have them for whatever reasons. Guitar players/collectors can be quirky, ego driven and pretty hard to figure out. There sure are a lot more "fugly" axes out there and who knows what else is up EVH's sleeve- he could come out with a kickass record when you'd least expect it.
