This is a great price guide. Nice work.

Would you mind if I used this on my site?

I get questions almost daily about this sort of thing and I have to write the same email response over and over. This might deflect some questions away from me.

It'd be even better to add a one line description of each model for people inquiring about model numbers and price range.

The Charvel 375 delux is a great guitar. I purchased mine on 9/29/90 at the old Guitar Center in Santa Ana, CA with the Charvel hard shell case for $478.11 out the door. Just pulled the sales slip out. I will never sell this guitar. I have only one mark on it, I did this on 3/19/02, pulled the bridge pickup out while doing the major cleaning, pickup slipped and screw pull small half moon ding in the top, it kills me to this day. 12years without a mark and I do something stupid like that!! Good thing it metallic black!

Also, how do the A's figure into those prices? (1A, 3A, & 5A are the ones I've heard the most of.)

Re: Import Charvel Bluebook

Very interesting. I would laugh at anyone offering me anywhere near the apparent blue book value of my 475 Deluxe, though, it is WAY too good for that price. It is one of the best head cutters I have ever played, and I love the bolt-on sound with the active mid scooped out.

I remember it retailed for $1100+ when new and sold in the $800 range. I bought mine used for $400 in '93, the peak of grunge (ewww). It was a replacement for my 375 Deluxe (a great guitar), which I later sold for $250, after paying almost $600 for it new!! Tough times for hot-rod guitars.......

Whatever, the 475 and up Charvels were truly excellent guitars, far better than most of the cheapo import Jacksons or similar guitars from ESP, Ibanez, etc., you see these days.

Re: Import Charvel Bluebook

this is a great thread. as a recent re-convert to import charvels, i'm sure i will look at this list often.

but here's a question.....

do we want the prices low, so we can get more of them, or do we want prices high, so what we have is worth more???

personally, i'd like to see some superstar guy start playing them again and give them props in "guitar world" or some magazine like that.

new fenders and gibson "starter" guitars are crap. people could spend less and get more with a used charvel.

the charvel rennisance can begin with this thread!!!

i´ve got a 375 dlx (desert crackle) which i bought in 1991 for about us$950.- incl. case, here in germany. very nice guitar. ;-)
this week a saw skid row and def leppard in munich, and snake from skid row played an old ESP form the 80´s (o.k. it was an esp, but an oldschool metalaxe!) and scotti played a san dimas reissue.

phil played nearly all availible pc-1s. ;-)
that was a great evening!
ups i got a bit OT! sorry guys.

Quite a few questions about prices this week, so I figured this could use a bump.

Man, that is an EXCELLENT point. I'll keep that in mind for my son.
