Must be an early 87 because the serial number is on the back of the headstock instead of on the fretboard end.

these guitars are very much alike, same binding, same nut, same neck profile.

Very cool. I'll bet it someone handed them to blindfolded, you would not be able to tell the difference.

All these things and a lot more have happened since I got this Charvel Model 6 It must have been Delivered with Some Good Grover MoJo, Cause it's been an interesting 10 Months since it showed up.
