Re: Vinnie Vincent Jackson V Questions

The only reason Ozzy was going to retire was because some doctor told him was sick with MS. Someone at his record label suggested he get a second opinion and found out he was fine, that the other doctor didn't know what he was talking about.

how many greatest hits albums can a band make? they may be good but they havent come up with crap in about a decade

IMO Bruce is the man
and while i hate the members of kiss im a fan of the unplugged album.

i think your all missing the point of the farewell tour, its not about them saying farewell, its about you saying farewell to your income

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I agree! Bruce was the best guitar player Kiss ever had. Now, don't get me wrong, Ace is okay, but every other player in that band definitely played better than him.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Very true. I am long time KISS fan and the only thing I can say is that Gene Simmons has never hid behind this. Read his biography "KISS and Make Up" and "Sex Money KISS". He admits it, he also took my money on those 2 books.

Re: Vinnie Vincent Jackson V Questions

Vinnie was an excellent shot in the arm for Kiss and the LIU album is pure excellence from start to finish...totally awesome 80's metal. The two VVI albums rule quite majorly as well, Brett, you really should give those 3 a listen, especially LIU and VVI album no.1.

It is true Kiss are a sad parody of themselves, but I enjoyed Dynasty (heck, I was 6 when it came out ) and Unmasked, The Elder, Creatures, etc...Asylum had some dodgy moments but without Vinnie's writing and playing they were struggling to keep up with the likes of Jovi, Crue and Leppard etc....Kiss were now the imitators, lagging behind the big guys....Gene hated this especially....

Re: Vinnie Vincent Jackson V Questions

I've been a long time follower of KISS and I was at their first ever major tour in (I believe) 1975 or so. Hell, that's been too many years ago so don't quote me on the year, but my point is that their "presence" has outweighed any musical ability that any of their members has ever had (except vinnie). Anybody these days can play any of Bruce's or Ace's riffs easily and they are all very elementary by today's standards. They were (are) "showmen", but not extraordinary musicians in any sense. Their theatrics and presence (and a never ending advertising budget) is what made them big. Nothing else. Vinnie is a true talented musician and was making it ok way before the KISS gig. (maybe not financially, but definitely artistically!) Just my opinion guys.

i saw them when i was 12 kiss alive tour and when i saw them on the first farewell tour ,before psycho circus,it was just like 1975. but if it wasn't 20 years between the 2 shows it wouldn't have been as good

On August 23 VV told me that he misplaced your email and that you should resend it so he can answer the questions that you posed to him.

Re: Vinnie Vincent Jackson V Questions

Damn, I was just wondering about the VVV and about VV himself..hehe didn't know this would happen. Ok, so I just got home from the KISS show, they were AMAZING! Cleveland LOVES KISS, there is no doubt. My wife and I left halfway thru Aerosmith tho, after the train wreck they were trying to call "Dream On" I just couldnt take anymore. Now let me state this, KISS, love em or hate em, live...they just KICK ASS! I mean everything is always right on and you would be hard pressed, IMO to find anyone Paul Stanley's age that can move, sing or that is in the shape he is in! That boy good! WOW! Aerosmith, what a let down. Joe Perry was amazing..he is a talented player, but the band was lifeless and uninspired, KISS wiped the stage with them.

I am 34, I have been a fan since I was 10, I have seen them every year since '79. I love the band, period. It is b'cuz of them and Ace that I play guitar now, they and he shaped my musical tastes...granted, Demartini, Lynch and Rhoads helped!! Vinnie, as I stated, is a great player and an amazing song writer (If your reading this Vinnie, I actually do like you!) and Bruce...well he rips. Very Humble, sincere and nice guy...and he SHREDS...ohya, he also has some sweet ESP's. The fact tho remains, nobody has a Bruce Kulick Tattoo! Nobody has a Vinnie Vincent Tattoo! There are many, myself included, that have Ace Frehley Tat's tho! Are there better players in the world? Hell yes! Are there better songwriters in the world? Hell yes! Are there better performers...Not in my eyes! Ya know lots of bands and artists get crap for their lyrical content. There are bands out today, that kick...but they are nothing more than angry 20 year olds who dress band, don't know how to tune and are pissed at the world. The only thing KISS is guilty of is "Rock N Roll All Night And Party Every Day." Sounds good to me!

All your opinions I agree with, all of them. They are money hungry...but ya know, so am I! And if I was in their shoes I would do it the same way, most of you would as well.

Thanks for all the info guys, I am on a search for a Jackson VVV, any help at any time would be greatly appreciated! If any of you guys own one or 12, post some pix or email em to me, I would love to see them!!!

Thanks...and as always,
Be COol!
