so far, Line 6 has provided the ability to download the newest Vetta software from their newest model amp and upgrade your existing older Vetta to the newest Vetta standard.

that kinda pops your resale value theory, at least as regarding the Vetta. it's also another reason Vetta owners love that amp.

I'm sure the Vetta is more flexible. But, I'd heard enough of them live to feel they aren't what I'd want in a loud situation really. They don't seem as full/rich and don't seem cut through the din like a tube unit does.

Nice to have one to play with and probably record. They seem nice on CD. Although I kind of like the low end edge they have, I haven't really heard one have the low end bouncy rich chug that a dialed tube unit has.

They just don't have the feel or give the feedback (not squeal, but feel) of a real tube amp when loud and breathing heavy. You really can't argue that. They don't quite have that live and dynamic feel... ummm... yet...

I agree with everything you said. On top of that.. I am not sure if I would like mine better. My best sounding amp currently is my Hollywood modded Stiletto. Its just not as easy to gig with as my Vetta.

And yeah, they sound thin. hehe...

Regarding the serviceability in the future... I can't help but agree. I've accepted that fact.
There is also another thing to consider. A Soldano SLO will NEVER be obsolete or outdated. It will always be considered as one of the best high gain metal amps ever made. Thats cool.

Well, either that or, the kids got to eat somehow. I personally can't justify sinking 5k into amps alone, so something has to go unfortunately. I would have loved to keep the thing, and will definitely miss it. In the last month and a half, since our new addition to the family, I've had to let go of 7 guitars, some of them prized. I have one Les Paul on EBAY now. Guitar equipment = drywall. LOL. And yet I'm still buying amps! :ROTF:

Yes, the Vetta is that good. Don't ever trust clips posted online regardless of what amp it is. You need to hear the amp in person before you can make an educated decision.
