What do I do when I solo? Whatever the song calls for.

If it needs sweeping, then I'll sweep.

Speed picking? Then I'll pick.

Tapping? Then I'll tap.

All of the above? Then I'll do all of the above.

Do I need to solo in every song? No.

Justin J Wakely that is some awesome playing, gave me goosebumps listening to that stuff, you incorporate everything, definately like the whole feel of it the opening pass, and then you get into the huge bends, and little shred stuff, awesome. ha ha cheers john.Yeahh well you need to know every thing(within reason)..to me its all about playing what you feel..improvising free falling is the way to go to realy explore yourself as a musician..but to that you need to know loads of tec/licks and all that malarky.

I used to do solos in a drum machine grindcore band!! [img]graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] That was fun!! No rules, no premonition as to what I would play, just pure noise!!

As far as solos, I used to hold my breath and do little lip movements when I played fast...then I decided the deprivation of oxygen wasn't doing me any good on those extended breaks. [img]graemlins/nono.gif[/img] [img]images/icons/smile.gif[/img]
