I see what you're saying, but at least it's a legit sport rather than more nonsense with subjective judging. Plus, the players really do seem to get into it and are proud to represent their countries.

I'm bummed I missed the big boys weightlifting. Heard it was pretty awesome.

Couldn't have said it better. He's the fastest man in the world, no doubt, I just hope he has a little class when he wins the gold..... but i doubt he will.

People forget save for Wimbledon, all of Nadal's Grand Slams have come on clay at the French, which means nothing when you're French and grew up playing on clay. Also, save for this year's Wimbledon, clay has been where he has beat Federer every time. Federer is having an off year, which is why everyone is making Nadal out to be the next god. Federer is just insane in ability. He has more talent than Nadal has to play you 100% to win. Federer can cruise for part of the match to wear you out, then put on the jets and DESTROY you. I don't know what is up with him this year though. His game isn't as sharp and he has totally lost his dominating forehand.

...and if he can dominate everyone, everywhere for 4-5 years straight we can start talking about him being in the same class as Federer has been to this point. Right now he's proven that he's a clay court specialist with one other major win, over an injured, sick Federer in 5 sets. That doesn't distract from him, but let's see what happens next year. Maybe Federer won't ever return to his previous form. Maybe he'll hang it up. Maybe this is Nadal's one great year. You just never know, but to this point he's the current number 1, but nowhere near one of the very best of all time.

Not everyone... BEIJING (AP) - IOC president Jacques Rogge criticized Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt on Thursday for showing a lack of respect to other competitors after his record-breaking gold medal performances in the 100 and 200 meters.

"He still has to mature," Rogge said. "I would love him to show more respect for his competitors. That's not the way we perceive being a champion. But he will learn in time. He should shake hands with his competitors and not ignore them. He'll learn that sooner or later. But (he's) a great athlete, of course."

                      • And the IOC has launched an official investigation into the age of that chinese gymnast. She's supposedly only 14. Good enough for Jerry Lee Lewis but not for the olympics.

Rogge is a JOKE. He should be railing about China and their broken promises as explained here...

I don't see ONE athlete he's run against complaining. That in and of itself speaks volumes...

Actually, 3 of the Chinese female team are reported to be under the legal age to participate in this years olympics. The IOC called for an investigation, didn't even bother going through the motions and 8 hours later declared the Chinese gymnists legal. What a crock of shit !

China has showed its true self in these Olympics. I didn't know a whole lot about China before this but now I have even less respect for them.
