I know its a thread resurection but you could make yourself a Colt 1911 pistol with your dremel. You will need this:

Use the dremel to polish the feedramp. and the cut off disks to cut the groove for the slide, then buy this:

Before anyone says its illegal its not if you follow the laws local and federal, if you are in California forget about, it I helped my friend in Texas make one.

Also if you are a felon or not allowed to own firearms it is illegal. If you are in Ohio it is legal to assemble just follow the guidelines for registration after completion and you are not allowed to resell it, more info at gunco.net
