  • The Black Crowes Appreciation thread

I posted this here as it doesn't have to do with a Jackson artist or gear.

They're the greatest rock band IMO. Tommy knows what I'm talking about.

I wish I could find a live clip of Horsehead.

I'm of the non-appreciation type when it comes to that band although they have a few good catchy songs but I dont own a CD by them

I went to see them this summer. They sucked. 40 minutes of fucking noodling before they played a recognizable song.

The Crowes are one of my favorite bands ever.

I saw them last summer on tour with Tom Petty. They were really great. Marc Ford had just re-joined the band.....Their best guitarist in my opinion.

There are no words to describe the top notch songwriting, harmonies, weirdly tuned guitars, and the beauty of how they changed more and more with each album. Yes they had a very stones like sound to them on the 1st album (where's the problem? it's better than cookie monster pole riding rooooaaarrrrrring!!!!!) People just hear things differently, and I'm every inch a De Martini, Van Halen 1-4, Rhoads ,Lynch, etc. lover, but once the heyday ended, i lived off the Black Crowes and Alice in Chains. We'd have really been fukked without them both. I'd have to say my signature says itall from the Amorica album. that's my favorite one if i had to pick a favorite. I saw them at the Fonda Theatre last year, a year and 2 weeks to the day i think. They are all their own as they progressed and have their own sound. Fukkin' rule!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let's tip our hats to Sambencuda's ears that really know how to zone in on great music.

They had a good song or 2 on "Shake Your Money Maker", but I don't them or their music.

I think what turned me off all together was when "She Talks To Angels" was big the singer and guitar player did Letterman and both were so obviously high they couldn't get through the song.

A few years ago the singer was on Howard Stern, I think it was Stern, was on the radio anyway, but they were playing shit from one of their new CD. Sounded like some sort of African tribal bullshit. I remember then thinking, how in the hell can anyone actually listen to this shit and enjoy it?

Rod Stewart and Rolling Stones rip-offs of the garage band level of musicianship If I wanna hear 70's classics I'll listen to the real 70's classics lol...
