This has been going on for years. Now there is just one less step that someone needs to take to take your homes.
Here is Syracuse a Mall wanted some land that an Oil company owned. They had the land condemed, ran out the oil storage facility, and then bought the land. Now without any cleanup efforts the land is suitable for Mall developement. Only reason the Mall hasn't been built is that the Mall owners are pushing for more than 10 years of tax free status whill will be really good for the local economy here is Syracuse. NOT !!!
We also have to worry about all the many law suits from the local indians trying to get the land back they owned hurdreds of years ago but supposedly sold under bad circumstances.
You can also have the land around you re-zoned and you could be taxed out of your land.
Believe me, if someone wants your land bad enough, they will get it. The new laws don't change that much.
