I still listen to a lot of stuff I listened to in the 80's, but there are a lot of bands that people still love that were already washed up by the time I started listening to music. So I laugh when people get exited about certain bands, but hey - whatever.

nah, not so much. i was never that big of a hair band fan back in the day. now i pretty much only listen to power-metal or prog-metal.
        GEAR:

some guitars...WITH STRINGS!!!! most of them have those sticks like on guitar hero....AWESOME!!!!

some amps...they have some glowing bottle like things in them...i think my amps do that modelling thing....COOL, huh?!?!?!

        and finally....

i have those little plastic "chips" used to hit the strings...WHOA!!!!

I wasn't all that discriminating back then.

          From the pop-metal/hair band side:

          Liked:

          Skid Row
          Motley Crue
          Slaughter (god knows why... ugh)
          Tesla
          Great White
          Ozzy
          Badlands
          White Lion
          Poison
          GnR

Of those, I probably only still listen to GnR, Motley and Great White

          Really Didn't Like:
          Warrant
          Enuff Z Nuff
          Ratt
Accept (actually never heard of them until Beavis & Butthead)
          Journey
          Styx
          Winger
          LA Guns

So many hair bands I didn't like - can't think of them all.

Shit I REALLY LIKED and still crank:
          Metallica
          Slayer
          Megadeth
          Overkill
          Exodus
          Suicidal
          Faith No More

And of course, in a section all by themselves as ALL TIME FAVES:
          Maiden
          Priest

Justine Beaver sounds like a cool name for a band.

HELL YEAH! 80's metal is STILL the best! Tucker (our bassist) and I were talking last night about our influences and what bands got us into music and wanting to play and be in a band. It's awesome being in a band where everyone is my age (mid-40's) because we all basically come from the same ilk of the late-70's and 80's metal scene.

Have you seen IRON MAIDEN: FLIGHT 666? I watched that on Paladia the other night and was f-ing blown away by the droves of people that still go to their shows! They seem more popular than ever! And they sounded amazing, too! Great show, if you haven't seen it, watch it!
