here's the pic of my success...and my clumsiness.
what do you guys think about the crack? i hope its not a big deal since it doesnt seem to affect the sound.

sorry abt the bad pic...bill lawrence is pretty wicked; pretty nice clean sound, more distorted sound, not muddy + expensive like EMG or dimebucker....its just awesome, not to mention its low price! thanks again martinbarre1!!!

yeah, i just realize that the pickup IS slanted for some reason....meh, i'll fix it later...or maybe even never lol.
but i still deserve a slap on the face thanks to my clumsiness, and i got my soldering kit, includes the lead + that vacuum thingie + the pickup for 65 bucks @ my local music store =D

The pickup is probably slanted because it's in a pickup ring not designed for it. I wouldn't worry about it, no one watching you play will see it anyway, and it certainly wont affect the tone.
If it bothered me much, I'd just take the ring that came with it and sand it down to half the thickness. But it doesn't. Those pickups are great value. Like you say, clean they sound sweet, and the harmonics just rip out of them under some gain.
The printing on the logo is half-assed when you compare it to a Duncan, but so what?

BTW that wee scratch is nothing. It's on the BACK for a start, and besides, guitars are meant to look lived in! Don't worry about it!
