I'm watching the live part of the Dean webcast now and Dean just said the special announcement is at 1PM PST.

Does the tip of that headstock look like a Washburn of some sort, or am I just imagining things?

Yeah some of the 80's Washburns, but almost identical to BC Rich's 80's headstock:

So he had them copy their headstock since the deal fell through with BC Rich? Lawsuit in the works? Cease and Desist? Anytime someone copies Gibson's headstock you know they won't be producing them for long.

Also are they allowed to use the same basic sharkfin inlays that Jackson uses? Only differences is it is inverted which is different from standard or reversed sharkies.

What's there is nice.
Dean's have a good shape, I like the ML and Z's.
But...
JCMI should have their lawyers all over this thing for the sharkies.
That is a perfect example of trade dress violation that needs to be enforced.

Nobody is gonna mistake that for a Jackson.

The inlays are similar to the sharkies, but the radius is a lot deeper, and in my opinion looks a lot worse.
