That would explain him being a shut-in.

At least you KNOW yours is a counterfeit. Most people playing Ed's counterfeits think they are playing Jacksons, Charvels or ESPs! Did he put a Jackson logo on your VV copy?

I was at NAMM today and saw the guitars. Cool looking... if it was still 1988! Those prices are outrageous. I asked the guy at the booth if Vinnie was going to be there at all and he said maybe he'd be there tomorrow, but nothing was scheduled. Now I don't sell guitars for a living, but I'd think that you'd want to create the most buzz/interest possible for these so Vinnie showing up to push his own line of guitars seems like a no brainer, but what do I know. I walked by the booth a couple of times and there was one guy looking other than me. And the pic they have up of Vinnie is quite old. He's not even holding one of the current guitars. I think it's one of the Carvins he had, but you can't see the headstock in the photo. Anyway, I predict complete FAIL for these guitars.

P.S. I'll post a couple of pics later.

The guitars are a joke....the lady at the booth was Diane Cusano I believe (I made sure to look at her tag), anyways the paintjob on each of the 4 were terrible, then I saw the $9K and $12K price list a laughed. I'll scan it in next week for ya....the booth was a ghost-town.

Yes that was VINNIES wife . She is a very nice lady. The reason VINNIE did not go was he did not want to have a conflict with GENE(dickhead ) SIMMONS . GENE was to sign at the cort booth he was a no show because VINNIE had guitars there. I talked to VINNIES wife for about 45min. VINNIE will do new music soon.

Gene Simmons cancelled a signing appearance for a company he endorses because VV happened to be showing guitars at NAMM?

That's just plain stupid. Vinnie's booth was downstairs where all the small companies are. Cort was upstairs in one of the huge main halls. They never would have crossed paths. I doubt that was the real reason.

I went down to see the guitars after Grover showed me the pricing. I figured they would have to be some immaculate pieces. The finishes did need some work. I offered up some tips to the builder and gave him a card if he would ever need some help. Tough times to throw out a 9k guitar in the market.

Speaking of Grover, he was right behind me in line at the food place downstairs. I wanted to say something to him, like thanks for creating the most badass guitar company ever, but I chickened out. Plus he seemed to be pondering whether to have a hotdog or hamburger. I think he went with the hotdog.

Agreed. Mike Learn introduced me to him at NAMM a few years ago. He was very nice, and he posed for a pic with me.
