That's kind of what I thought, but the maple section seemed too thin. They're really cutting back on the 'depth' of the neck section these days aren't they?...

I feel like a dumb ass for asking but I'm going to ask anyway. Is the normal scale on the KVs 24.75"? Did you go with the medium frets or Jumbos?

Not a dumb Q... Actually, the KV2T is 24.75 scale, and the KV2 is 25.5

I love the look of the KV2T but the neck is thicker than the speed neck on a KV2 which I prefer. That's why I got the specs of the KV2 guitar with a KV2T headstock. Also, I play in a way lower tuning (Drop C) so the extra tension of a 25.5 scale makes chords a little tighter and cleaner. Drop C on a 24.75 is pretty evil sounding haha... I'm trying to keep it as thrash as possible without being too deathy. Frets are Jumbos.

That guitar is awesome Dave! I saw that over at the Megadeth.com forums. Was never a fan of that particular style of headstock but the finish is gorgeous!
I would so snatch that up it if were 24 frets

The first batch of KV2Ts actually mistakenly got the 25.5" scale, so there's a few of them floating around somewhere.

What is the neck profile of these "First batch", and how many were produce ?
GAS list >KV2T first batch in black ghost flame, and CS KV / RR in string thru & rearloaded.

Beautiful and unique looking custom. The fact that it probably has a sound and tone different from the standard wood styled KV series gives it even more of a coolness factor. I might be able to convince the wife I need another KV style because the ash sounds a lot different than the other ones!!!
                            Really nice guitar.
