That's because they are bound tops. You can't bind bevels.

It's not the transparent ones that are flat and bound, it's the string through models. It's just coincidence that both string throughs in this thread have a trans top. I'm sure I've seen a black string through KE1T with body binding and a flat top.

EDIT: Here's a grey one...



Also, it appears some KE1Ts were made without flat tops/binding, but I think they were NAMM-only guitars, and the production version was bound.

I need a new strap, playing this guitar is killing my shoulder
