• I'm thinking of buying a marty friedman sig

    hey guys

I have a few questions, I am used to floyds

will the kahler be hard to get used to? I heard it's easier to work with.

also, are the friedman sigs 22 or 24 frets?

    thanks!

Kahlers might feel a little stiffer than a floyd, much like a tunomatic bridge. They're 24 frets.

The bridge on a KE1 was a fixed Kahler, not a trem.....

The hardest part to get used to will be the neck diving.

I just found out it's a fixed kahler, so there will be none of that

I think Noodles was referring to the balance of the guitar

By neck diving, he means neck heavy i.e. the headstock wants to drop to the floor.

I have a KE3 with a DK-1 neck. I don't have an issue with this - mine is all black on black hardware like yours - kick ass guitars.

For what it's worth, there's a Marty sig up on eBay:

                http://cgi.ebay.com/Jackson-USA-Custom-S...1QQcmdZViewItem

And the standard disclaimer - I don't know the seller or the guitar and I'm in no way connected with the listing. Just trying help out a fellow JCF'er.

The KE1T is a Friedman sig and a string thru. Like this...

There's also a 2 hum version (KE2T). Both are a little tough to find but well worth it if you can score one.

Does Marty's not have bevels or somethin?

The transtops seem to be flattops?

Concerning the neckdiving, a heavy strap (leather, vs slipping) could solve most of that.

That's because they are bound tops. You can't bind bevels.
