I remember reading where Dave referred to the fixed Kahler bridge as a tone sucker, he said it killed it.

Dave's specs are basically a KV2 with a Kahler. Ive got a KV1 from around the 1998 time frame. It kicks ass. Mines been re-fretted with jumbo fret wire. I have to say that I prefer the thinner fret wire when used with a fixed bridge. It makes more sense.
You can still get the Kahler fixed bridges. They aren't exactly the same (material wise), but close enough.
Still don't understand why there is no KV with string though body.
And yes I have returned from the grave Muuuuuuuuuuuhhahahhahaha

They do - the KV2T is a string thru KV. Albeit with different inlays and headstock, and no body bevels...
