    WHOA... That's pretty amazing.
As far as I'm concerned he can stay with Dean and play his dots+fins KV copies, and whatever that aborted fetus he "designed". More like "I saw it in my puke". -Newc

Daniel, you better keep this one bro! It's a time capsule, and you will probably never find another one like it.

In my opinion this is about as good as it gets dude! Great score buddy, I'm happy for ya!

*edit: Were those knobs original on those JDR94's?

I don't blame you one bit for wanting to keep this one. What a score!
These days as you know it's really few and far between that we run into these older Jacksons that are in this condition, and on top of that untouched originals!
            Very cool man!

Yeah I wondered about that too when I got mine. They don't really suit the guitar at all, but I suppose were used to keep the costs down.
I bought some new ones from an online shop, but bought the wrong thing - what I got was about 2/3 the size of standard Jackson knobs. They look fine though, and it's actually quite handy, cos it means you don't keep turning the volume down by accident so much!

I said at the time, when I first got mine, I can't believe how cheap these things go for. Shops in the UK are selling total crap, beginner guitars for the Xmas shoppers, and they're costing a lot more than these things, despite being nowhere near the quality!

So you have one also? Very cool!!
I can now see the similarity to the PS-4 which came later(?) than the JDR.
                (Or before?)

Anyway, I love the reverse headstock on that. Only thing I dont care for (and never did) were the small off-set dot inlays. I prefer regular placed dots, or Sharkies, which are my fav, and arguably the best inlay ever.

Is there already a "Post your JDR-94" thread? If not there should be, right?!

Also, did these come in Black only?
                Sweet guitars for sure guys!!

I believe the PS guitars came later, and were based on the Concepts. The reverse headstock does look awesome - and the other good thing is the printing on the headstock. My other imports just say "Jackson", but these have "Concept" and also a printed truss rod cover. Nice.

As for the offset dots, I wouldn't want them on any of my other Jacksons, but to be honest, I don't think sharkfins would look as good on these guitars - the light colour would ruin the "none more black" feel. The dots fit them perfectly, and being offset seem a little more unique.

Yeah, overall these are really nice guitars for the price!

Yeah true, plus the off-set dots set them apart from every other Jackson and add to the uniqueness of the guitar's heritage.
                    No lefty version though......as usual

Yeah it must be a bit of a pain to be a leftie.

Incidentally, the pickups in these guitars are, IMO, shite. What are you putting in yours JDR? The Lawrence in my bridge position really, really smokes. I will eventually stick a Fender single coil in the middle. I'm not sure what to do with the neck - I have a Jazz sitting there which I might try if I don't put it in my Kelly. Any thoughts on how a Jazz would sound in one of these?

Me and JDR just did some trading, I'm swaping him a Bill and Becky Lawrence L500 for his EMG '85. I think he should try it in his '94 to see how he likes it.

I have a B&B Lawrence L500XL in my DK2 and I really love it alot...nice and chunky low end, yet it has a nice transparent feel to it with great natural harmonics and sustain.
By far my fav passive pup ever.

*edit: (Those JDR-94's look extremely close to a DK2 except for the reverse and the HSH pups.)

yeah the only thing i hate about em is the middle pickup. shoulda been a HH guitar. heres a pic of me playin my old one.

as you can see i customized it a bit. i just pulled the middle pickup, moved the vol to the tone spot, removed the switch(i only used the bridge) and got a custom decal made. all the holes where still there, but from a few feet away you cant tell. the jdr was before the ps4 and its also superior to it imo. there was a thread about both models around the time martinbarre got his.

I actually love the fact theres a middle single coil. It's a bit different to what I have in my other guitars. The quality of the pickup is poor, but it's a versatile setup.
The blue finish on that PS4 looks sweet Cygnus!

BTW It's not a Becky and Bill I have in my JDR, it's one of the Lawrence USA ones. I don't know, or care much, whether Dime REALLY used these (apparently he did!), but I DO love the tone from it which is what matters right?
