    Re: what model and year?

that's why I asked about the pickup rings, it sounded like a DR3 to me. The later ones didn't have Professional on the headstock either. But they may have been 24 frets too

I'm thinking maybe a DR-3 too, but the inlay is reverse sharkies.

DR-5s have dots, but they are 24 frets. Hmmm.

OK. Now you're cooking with gas. I'd agree with Ron and say DR-5, but there are a couple other questions...

Is the body "Tapered"? What kind of pickup switch does it have? (blade or toggle)

tapered meaning like where your ribs would kinda fit? if so then yes. it has a blade switch.

              thanks again

Tapered as in the Ibanez Sabre design, where the body thins at the edges.

Indications point toward a DR-5 or a Dinky Reverse. Have you checked to see if someone covered the "Professional" at the end of the headstock?

Sounds like a DX10... those had offset dot inlays. The DX10D had reverse sharkfins.
