  • please help me find the part.

    hey guys.

i need trem arm for my Jackson V, guitar is made in Japan I dont know more about this guitar. my friend bought if for me and way back in 2003 or somewhere around that time. he left all the documents and everything behind.... since then I have a hard time finding a matching trem arm. there are a lot of chrome ones but not the ones like my guitars hardware.

its silver satin brush metal type color, I will post pics if I can upload them. I had a hard time finding pickup rings in the same color too.

    thanks in advance.

I tried to upload pics but it won't let me.....

    frets on the net
is a good place to find good aftermarket Jackson parts. None of this $5 Chinese crap.

But, outside of that, if you want to find your own -
    look for words like
satin chrome, brushed pewter, powdered cosmo
    to get the right hue

Quite frankly, the bar isn't going to match. Color tends to wear with time.
And it is always better to buy both parts, not just the bar. That way know you it will fit.

To post images, choose any free image host (https://www.google.ca/search?q=free+...4dUDCAg&uact=5), upload your images there, and copy-paste the generated links back here.

The way you describe your hardware sounds like you have satin hardware, which sounds about right for the era you stated. More info: https://www.jcfonline.com/forum/equi...ndard-i-bought

The tremolo is a JT580LP made my Takeuchi. That may help you seek a compatible arm.

thanks, guys, yes it's exactly this color mine. if I find Floyd rose in this color non-licensed it's even better ill buy arm and bridge at the same time.

I used those keywords but come up with nothing. I live in Uk I don't know if that makes any difference finding the parts.

I think it will best if I wait and I just upgrade the whole bridge to the original Floyd Rose, as I have a hard time controlling notes with term, notes die on me.

can you fit the original Floyd rose into a licenced Floyd guitar cavity?

I have a brushed set of hardware from that era. Taken off my 2001 PC3.
Complete trem and lock nut, tuners.
I can't just sell the arm, would put me in the same situation as you are, but I can let the complete trem and lock nut go. PM me if you're interested.

You would have to replace the socket and arm. They do fit in a JT-580LP base plate.

yeah I've done that before, what I meant is if I take the licensed bridge out completely and put original Floyd in it, would it fit?

Yep... A Floyd will drop right into a JT-580LP route. You might run into issues with the low E string lock bolt if you do any drop tuning. The low E might rub a little on the back of the route.

That looks just like a 580 anyway and has the measurements to boot. A ruler is very cheap and has inches and millimeters
I know the old saying that the value of an opinion is generally inversely proportional to the strength with which it is held.

I don't do drop tunings, I keep standard tuning on the guitar and use Digitech drop for lower tuning.

@johon.w.iawson I did measure with a ruler last night, seems close enough. but its not the same shape as licenced and I'm going to have a gap around the bridge, between bridge and guitar.

just get you a schaller arm off fleabay. make sure it has a brushing at the top. it keeps the arm in place. 17.

I measured it looks like it's 75mm from post to post.
