    • Without a pic I can only guess it's an early 2000's KVX10 made in Japan.

      96xxxxx, 97xxxxx and 98xxxxx serials oftentimes don't indicate '96, '97 and '98.

      • Those numbers are quite hard to pin point, but I'd say that number was 2006-7. The only way to be certain is to remove the neck and check the date stamps.

I'll be swapping the neck out for another 2004 DK2 body in the next month or two. Will update accordingly.
          Cheers!

            • Recently purchased a Jackson V guitar described as a Dinky.
              Neckplate stamped NHJ0909731
Has sharkfin inlays, Jackson brand pickups, fixed bridge, output jack on the upper wing, 2 volume controls and a selector switch.
              Any ideas?

              • The serials means that it was made in India.
                Your basic JS unit.

Anyone calling it a Dinky either:
                1. thinks all bolt on models are Dinky, or
                2. thinks that Dinky means entry level.

                No V is a Dinky

                • Thank you. I also thought calling it dinky was wrong as well.

                  • Made in 2009. Sounds like a JS32T King V.

                        HA

                        That is a Hindu Serial.
                        Made in India.
                        I believe in 2012?

                          • Hey Mudlark. I am thinking of purchasing another Jackson. It has a green flame top with a reverse headstock, dot inlays and Performer on the headstock. The truss rod cover is blank and it is an H-S-H configuration. The serial # is 9614224. I thought it was a PS-4 but the current owner swears that it is not. Any ideas?

                            • You are correct --- unless it is a mutt.
                              HSH Performer is a PS4.
Although, they had off center dots.

Yeah, this guitar has a rosewood fingerboard with the smaller off-center dots. It looks exactly like a PS-4 that I own except that mine is a deep red color and this one is a green flame top. Also, mine has a different serial number that starts with a 1. Everything else looks the same. The guy selling it is adamant that it is not a PS-4 though. I'm not going to argue with him. I'm just gonna buy it and go about my merry way I guess.
