    Dr Loomis!

    I have now figured out that NHJ is the new prefix for the India factory, and the 4th & 5th digits indicates the year. So,

    NHJ10xxxxxxx = Made in India 2010

      Unless somebody wants to correct me...

        From my vast wealth of knowledge and experience I would say mid to late 2009.

              I am really so curious about this. Body wood is much heavier than alder, doesnt sound like alder at all.
              Doesnt sound muddy and has lots of mid range.
              Its a fixed bridge, made in japan. I wasnt aware they made these in 2008/2009??? Here is a pic.

                Previous owner said he bought it new in '99 but I'm sure it was a leftover '97 or so model since the serial doesn't start with a 9.

                2011 KV Deluxe "Shuriken" MII

                NHJ1111994

                Bought this for my son this past Christmas. He loves the thing. I also read that it was a very limited production model, like less than 300 made.

                  Sure. The body after 2006 was basswood I believe.

                    Yes that looks like a Korea #. Couldn't tell you the year though. Your 2nd sentence doesn't make sense. The 9 in Japanese serials of this era does not notate the year.

                    Yes, NHJ = Made in the Harmony plant in India, the next 2 digits (11) denote year 2011.

                        Thanks! Sorry I thought that the Serials that start with a 9 are from Japan. Here's a pic of the rear cavity.

                        I was really hoping it was a MIJ model but it's ok, it does seem like its very well built.

                              It's gotta be 092646. MIJ in 2009.
