  • 36 fret 3 octave electric guitar build thread.

    Ok so i thought i would show some progress shots of a guitar i am building,

    Maple fretboard 36 fret 3 octave 16'' radius
    25.5'' scale
    single action Martin style 560mm bass truss rod
    maple neck through

    This is the mock up design.


    This picture shows how far from the nut the fretboard finishes. Note: the fretboard pictured isnt the one i am using its a second, i made 2.

          And like on that video fr ibanez 30 fret guitar states. Even if you dont use the higher frets it will still make access to 24 etc with ease unlike most guitars.

              You are going to have to use some really thin fret wire from #17 thru 36.
              Good luck finding some to work.
              Looks like its going to be a nightmare trying play past the 27th fret.
              Is this going to be a 7 or 8 string guitar?

                    no 6 string actually, I was thinking about going 24 medium-jumbo frets, 6 medium and 6 small frets, Ferd Wagner & Sintoms like in the link.

                      Theres actually a few out there. Washburn ec 36, hamer virtuoso. kramer turbulence.
