  • You guys got any burning questions for the Custom Shop?

I'm headed there tomorrow for a thing, want me to ask a bunch of annoying questions? Not "Why doesn't it take 2 months for my guitar to be finished?" :ROTF:

I will check out the layout of the building(s) and see once and for all where J & C are made, etc.

You don't have long, because I have to print this out by, oh, 8 AM tomorrow.

Umm... ask when they are beginning production on some seven strings.

Tell McD to give us more stuff to do. I want another free T-shirt. (Just kidding about the t-shirt thing.)

Find out when my Adrian Smith with be ready to ship to Matt's!!!

Seriously, I'd like to hear a little about the wood selection for various levels of guitar and their "attention to detail" on the various lines.

good call on the shirts! I've almost worn out my old one. Jackson logo on the front, HRF King V on the back. Simple and perfect.

This is going to be awesome. I'm going to ask them if they'll give me an endorsement deal. I'm sure that will get a good laugh.

The two questions I've not got 'full' answers to are:

                        - Why does gold hardware on a custom order cost an extra $250? It's like they look at the whole hardware cost as an extra, not just the upcharge for gold.
                        - As Hamer are now owned by FMIC and still make 'Gibson shapes' why can't Jackson?
Popular is not the same as good
Rare is not the same as valuable
Worth is what someone will pay, not what you want to get

When will we ever see a more modern production charvel strat head with a recessed trem?

Will there be more color / finish choices for the USA Selects?

(probably not right away, but what about down the road?)

                            - Leo.

On a dinky with a recessed trem, do they work the neck and body equally to get the neck angle right, or is it just the body? Basically, could you take a neck from a recessed floyded guitar and put it on a body built for a non-recessed floyd?

If that doesn't make sense, look at Newc's post in this thread:

Not sure if its the same for American and Japanese building (I'm using a DK2M neck), but it would be nice to know what to expect when I get to this point.

                              Thanks.
