Not buying a Original Phil Collens Jackson in white or the original Brian May Guild both were $ 650 blow outs at a local store. Then there were the Gretsch Champane Jet ( double cutaway ) and Sparkle Jet ( single cutaway) for $125 each a few years earlier.

I found a 1 hum Charvel Model 5 at a local store a few years ago, it was priced at $400. It was in reasonable shape, not great, but I felt they could do better on the price. Not more than 3 or 4 months of me trying to negotiate a better price the shop closed its doors. I called the owners after the closing to find out what they were doing with all the inventory, specifically that Charvel. I never recieved a response from the person in charge of closing the store down, after many phone messages, which irritates me to this day.

Selling my trans green Dinky Reverse for rent money! It was one of the best playing/sounding guitars I've ever had... and, FWIW the apartment sucked!

Y2KV-B? Here's another recent one - instead of having a pro do my frets, I did them myself on my Y2KV GGF and cracked the f**ker right down to the binding. Hold on, I'm actually going to stand up so I can kick myself in the ass, again!

This is not a Classifieds listing, I'm saying that my worst J/C mistake was selling everything in that folder, not that everything in that folder is for sale - everything in that folder is already gone

lol, arn't you in charge? Just go tell them to build you one. If they hesitate, break out a whip and kick some butt! They will respect your authori-tay!

And while you're at it, tell them to start building RR1t's with 24 frets re-routed.

My biggest mistake i ever made with Jackson..

In 88 I had cash on hand to have a custom shop Kelly built. There were some specific things i wanted. i spoke to the local music stores rep who told me "oh no, they can't do that. you get this or else you get nothing." so until 1992 my attitude towards jackson was fuggum because I just got told by a CUSTOM SHOP person that they "can't" build something.

Turns out the Jackson Custom Shop rep, was the guitar store owners wife and didn't bother to find out if it could be done or not. So instead I ordered a custom shop les paul. To this day I still want a custom shop kelly to my specs and I'm sorry I didn't go elsewhere to find one (I was 18 didn't know better) The Les Paul i got was awesome, but i still want my kelly. And some day if I hit the lotto I can afford it (lol)

btw the options I wanted Arched top like a les paul (well sort of like a les paul) bound neck, body and head stock, high flamed maple in transparent cherry sun burst with "gold pickups" (I had no idea what picksups just had to be gold colored.. again I was 18) and the toggle on the upper horn whatever the non-cut away part. anyway... I don't think i got past bound body (didn't get to the fun stuff) before i got the "no they can't do that."

So for real I hate jackson and charvel for several years after that, in fact even after I bought the LTD I hated jackson, skipped buyin a couple really nice RR's (I can't remember what number it was by my friend had one he wanted to sell me, red with black tiger stripes and purple jackson logo) for dirty cheap but i hated the company.. Then I find out "oh no that was *so and so*) and now looking back I could have had a real low serial RR, but no..

sorry that was far too long winded

oh yeah and for the record, since i found out, I've been buying mostly jacksons

I passed on a black 1 hum 2 sc with Jackson trem and dot inlay Firebird at Guitar Center in the early 90's for $800. That same time they had a blue round horn Jackson Flying V for the same price. They had both for years and when I finally woke up they were sold. About 8 years ago another local shop had several Charvel Steat heads along with a one hum Explorer and V for about $600 a piece.....I passed and still feal stupid.

For me probably drilling about 5 strap holes in my COW-7 to fix the neckdive, and solving it by adding some weight in the control cavity
