Hi!
Haven't posted in a long time, but have enjoyed lurking! I have an '86 San Dimas Jackson all-maple pointy bolt-on Strat. The frets have serious wear and the tip of the headstock has a serious chunk out of it. The guitar sounds fantastic and I want to start playing it live again, but I'm not into the pointy asthetic anymore. I was thinking of storing the pointy neck and putting a new Strat-head neck on.
Can anyone steer me in the right direction for a neck that would be a good match? I like the feel of the neck, but I'd rather have a slightly thicker one, and possibly a compound radius- something more comfortable for chording. No locking nut this time around, either.
I tried GMW, but learned that they don't sell separate necks. Also checked out Warmoth, but there's so many options. You guys are the experts, so I look forward to any ideas. Thanks!
