I prefer thick from side-to-side, either 1 11/16 or 1 3/4 and thin from front-to-back, although I have played some "baseball bat" thick necks that I have liked a lot.
I prefer thinner-flat ones (almost like my woman ). The one that I have on my 86 SD Charvel is by far my favoriate. Like pedalGEEK, I have a couple of 'baseball bats' that I too have liked, although it probally the sound of the guitar I like more than the neck.
Wide (1-11/16" to 2"), thick, and rounded. I can manage on most profiles, but thin ones are starting to make my wrist hurt. That's why I'm selling my Fusion (VERY thin neck), to help finance an SL2H-MAH and/or SLS, maybe a Custom Shop if finances allow. Come to think of it, my current CS (I purchased used) has a Wizard-like profile. Maybe I should sell it, too.
Depends if 24ftets or 22frets and also body shapes.
I usually prefer not too thijck and not too wide.
So normal neck I would say.
As long as it has jumbo frets, I am ok with most of neck shape.
