They also have this double compilation disc released after the split.
Scattered ashes - a decade of emperial wrath.
Disc one have songs from all the albums, while disc two is cover-songs, demos, a remix and some more obscure things they have done.
Anthems is my fave album of all time, but the last studio album Prometheus is another album not to miss.

According to a local record store I went to on Monday, the release is delayed here and they'll probably get it next week.
However I've heard the complete (horrible quality) stream on mp3.com, that's when I decided this album is a MUST BUY!

And I thought us EMPEROR fans were a rarity. And coincidentally, "Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk" happens to be my favourite album too. Congrats to all the lucky bastards out there who got to see them live. I got their "Live Imperial Ceremony" DVD (before "Empty" was added). I tried several times to pause it to see if that's a DK2 or something else that Ihsahn plays. Until now, the last I heard of EMPEROR was their "Prometheus.." album and that they split up after that. OMFG, what's this NEW album?Fuck ebay, fuck paypal
"Finger on the trigger, back against the wall. Counting rounds and voices, not enough to kill them all" (Ihsahn).

It's not a new Emperor album, it's an Ihsahn solo album.
Go check it out. It's pretty cool.Dreaded Silence - Boston Melancholic Metal

+1. I'm just listening to it now. Damn, it's a good album. "Called by the fire" seems to be my favourite at the moment. I like the fact that he's kept it EMPEROR style but gone even further in terms of new ideas/experimentation. Thanks, I wouldn't have discovered this album had it not been mentioned.Fuck ebay, fuck paypal

I finally got the album on Thursday, and I think it's great stuff!
My favourite song so far is Astera Ton Proinon.

I've been an Emperor fan since Into The Nightside Eclipse but Anthems... is also my favorite album. It sounds huge, majestic and epic and I think the tracklist is perfect to listen the album in one go. It has great sentimental value for me.
Anyway, I'm gonna see them at Wacken, Germany this summer. I am really looking forward to it. I'm also loving Ihsahn's new album.
Nice pics and gigreview man. Thanks a lot.
