Well, I have a Fender Princeton Chorus which I liked for recording, I used it on small live gigs too, not much power, but I got fair results with it. But I really like tube amps. The Marshalls (MR-6100/MR-6101) and the Fender Prosonic are both able to produce hi-gain sounds similar to SS amps.
