I still love my uber I wish I could have a fireball sitting next to it to jusge them..i would know in a matter of minutes which one i like..

Morder heavy tone...but I'm not into judging amps my recordings..my uber slams on my demo on that was recorded on a tape recorder..

I have to have the amp right here ...in my face...twaeking to know what an amp is..

I agree with Pete, Powerball does sound like a solid-state. And OMFG how horrible it is for leads IMO.
Another ENGL that I tried was Savage, it was definetly better, but not my cup of tea. It has a very tight hi-gain sound, excellent for Euro Metal and that kind of stuff, but that's the music I don't care about. I would take the recto anyday, most versatile and it has "the metal" sound I like, it suits well for my groovy riffs. Recto has an awsome crunchy sound that the other hi-gain amps doesn't have IMO.
ENGLs are very well built but their sound is absolutely horrifing to me. I would try something else, Boogie Mark series, Bogners, VHTs or Soldanos.

XXX's are way way way too loud and it sounds like a poor mans recto, not compressed enuf OD if you ask me
