Re: Picking question

Isn't 8th note triplets at 220 bpm the same as straight 16th notes at 146 bpm? Don't mind me just brushing up on my math skills (took me 2 minutes to figure that out) but, DO correct me if I'm wrong.

Re: Picking question

mm crap I made a mistake,,
forgot that its 4 by 4... so what hammer said is very reasonable,,
sorry!

robotechnology I don't think that's quite correct... from my calc:

8th triplets: 2 (notes/beat) * 3(triplet) * 220 = 1320 notes per minute..

so in 16th notes it should be 1320/4 = 330 bpm, isn't it?

I'm not quite sure myself.. I don't exactly read notes well at all so correct me if I'm wrong too please.

Re: Picking question

they're only 8th note triplets. so that's 3 notes per beat.

3 x 220 = 660 notes/minute

so the corresponding 16th notes would be played at 165bpm

What you've calculated, mt, is the notes per minute for sextuplets at 220bpm, which is twice as fast. For some reason, as well as including the 3 notes per beat for the triplet, you've also doubled it by 2 notes per beat because they're 8th notes?! yes vitaminG ur right!

I stupidly thought that its triplets per 8th note beat! instead of each note of the triplet being 8ths!,,

thanks for clearing that up for me
