Re: Tunings

My favorites are Eb and Drop Db, but I also use standard, and I want to try out some open tunings like Mark Knopfler used on Romeo and Juliet.

          Re: Tunings

We (Division) drop 1/2 step (Eb, or Bb on the 7 strings) for our singer. (Whiny b*tch. ) Nevermore does the same, if I remember correctly. Romeo (Symphony X) actually tunes to D, I think. (They're pretty low. I'll ask when I see him or LePond this weekend. )

We also use quite a bit of drop-D (well, really drop-Db in this instance), as it makes for a nice, heavy tone without getting too "tubby".

Yes, be very sure to ask Michael Romeo that question. I want to know if he's tuning his whole guitar down to D or just drop-D.

              Re: Tunings

I believe his whole guitar is tuned to D. I thought I read that on their site one time.
