  • Crispin's Day (Neoclassical ditty)

Just tried my compositional wings on a Mike Varney-style technique demonstrator track for a friend who asked me to do this. I called it Crispin's Day because I was watching Henry V while I wrote the arpeggios, if anyone asks

It's recorded using my Jackson DK-2 and a POD XT.

Bass guitar is my DK-2, pitch-bent an octave down and then passed through Amplitube.

Keyboard solo is me playing a VAZ Modular synthesizer.

The BT is self-made with some GM harpsichord and some VST plugins.

Feel free to listen, and to critique anything that may come to mind!

Your playing is really clean, and its obvious you know what you are doing, but there isn't enough meat (melodic theme) holding things together. It just seemed like a two minute guitar solo. If that's what you are going for, then you did a great job.

If you're trying to write a song, try to work on creating melodies that repeat and serve as verse/chorus etc... then put a killer guitar solo in there.
