  • Software amp sims and YOU! Arch Enemy.

Always having hated software amp sims, and either using a real amp or a POD XT (always sounded better than software amps...)

    I bought Alien Connections Revalver.

This mp3 here is 2 tracks hard panned of my custom revalver patch and 2 tracks also hard panned of Guitar Suite (free VST jcm 900).

The snare sound sdisgusting, i know. I was in no mood to fine tune it! Hahahaha

The bass was done with the guitar rig 2. So, i present, my first ALL SOFTWARE guitar/bass recoridng.

Thanks for pointing out Guitar Suite. It sounds damn good for a freebie!

Yep, guitar suite sounds really good, and it has also the best response to dynamic imo, or at the least it was so years ago when I tried it. Dunno about the new version of revalver and guitar rig.

          New revalver is amazing.

I use custom impulses with it though as the bundles ones blow ass.

I think I used the very first version years ago, I had lots of probs with latency with my sound blaster live, then I discovered kx drivers . F*ck, years pass really quickly.

Just started playing around with the Revalver demo. Wow!

Some guy on KVR posted this recipe for a tight rhythm tone:
four of the single triodes (all turned down to between -12 and -14) in front of the pre-02 preamp (default settings) and then into the mathuselah power amp (also default settings). then into the default 4x12 cab, and the 8Q EQ last in the chain to boost the low end.
30 seconds later, I had it punched in and it's pretty good. This is the most fun I've had with recording in a while.

CoN, what did you use to get rid of the hiss? This thing is noisy as hell.

Nothing, my setup doesn't involve any gates or anything.

                I actually remixed the track,

                But yeah, my setup is:
