    Technical or straight forward?

    Haven't posted any MP3s for a while so thought I'd share
    these new ones that are totally different. One has simple
    rocking riffs influenced by Therapy. The other is technically
    challenging metal stuff.
    These are "notebook" versions - I will re-record them later
    when the songs are finished.

    Very nice playing guys! So, what equipment did you use?

    Good mix. I can hear every instrument.
    Good playing, I didn't catch any sloppy spots.
    Good tones for the most parts. Challenge kind of gave me the Archenemy crave.

    It could very well be my system, but it sounds like your bass sounds are clipping a little. Bass drum's a bitch to keep punchy but not clip, I feel ya there.

    Nuetrals

    Try rolling your gain back just a hair on your guitars. That could me more preference on tone, but my opinion would be to roll it back so that I could hear more guitar less fuzz.

      I didn't really record it. I just played it with a Custom Jackson Flying V and GT-2 direct to soundcard without any mixing or processing. Drums are Alesis SR-16. I roughly put volume levels where everything makes sense and then ran the whole thing through a compressor/limiter. I always do these fast notebook versions so I remember the riffs and I can have a listen if the song is worth finishing or not. The bass is Charvel model 2 also with GT2.

      When I record a finished song I mic my Silver Jubilee Marshall. [img]/images/graemlins/headbang.gif[/img]

      BTW the arpeggio lead was played with Dan Spitz's old Custom RR.

        Wow! I like them both. I think I like the second one more but that's not to say I don't like the first one.

        If you could post the powertabs that would be great. I like butchering other peoples work.
