  • POD tone test

So I went out and traded my flextone for a pod. I recorded a crappy version of one of our band's tunes and put it up on myspace. Here is the link..

    http://www.myspace.com/denythisflesh

The track contains several mistakes. We had a few people looking to join our band, and I decided to throw something together so they could get a rough idea of what we sounded like. The track is by no means perfect. In fact, there are several mistakes. I think you guys can get the general idea though. Also, I did not record it very loud. You may have to turn your speakers up a little. I was having some problems getting it to play on my pc, but it is probably just the computer I am using.

I guess I a wondering what you think of the tone? I recorded it with in Ibanez S540-----POD-----Laptop.

    Enjoy!

Sounds super quiet and mushy to me. Sounds pretty much like it was recorded with a POD.

Ya man.. Like I said you may have to turn your speakers up. The soundcard on my laptop could not handle much so I had to record it with the volume low...

          LOL! @ Avatars!

I think you need to turn the gain WAY back...it's all fuzzed out.

I couldn't make out what that was sorry...very poor recording. Too much mud and too low of a level.

                Re: POD tone test

the best way to get tone out of your pod is to turn the pod up all the way and attenuate it with your soundcard interface. basically so you get a higher signal to noise ratio. be carful about the extra gain boosts in the pod. they can sound great by them selves but once you have more than one guitar recorded it will wash them out. also, once you trun on any of the xtra gain/presence/channel boosts inside the pod for a specific model, it will always be on when you recall that model, even in manuel mode. to get back to the origial model's preset you'll either have to do it manually or reset the pod's firmware, loosing all of your saved presets.

just make a metal note of this stuff.
