• Name that backing track (Improv)

I like getting some backing track and just go off to hear what it sounds like as an instrumental.

I don't do the blues thing much (You have been warned)but I wanted to try mixing some "un blues" modes, arps and stuff in with the pentatonic to see what it would sound like.

There are some moments that I would avoid if I recorded it again, but I thought I'd just post it in the raw since it is improvised...I have since gotten it down a bit differently but it doesn't sound improvised anymore

I wasn't too familiar with this well known tune but see if you can figure out what it is.

This is the first recording I did with my Tokai LR so it was a bit unfamiliar at the time, however it didn't take long to get the feel for it and now I love shredding the ass off it.

Recorded with my V-Amp 2 on the modern setting with some reverb to give it that "small room" jam feel.

Nice job man. I enjoyed that. It is my favorite Hendrix song.

Re: Name that backing track (Improv)

Damn, daily bandwidth download quota has been used up. One of the many reasons why I now hate OnlineRock.

Dave, try www.yousendit.com. Each uploaded file lasts 7 days and a few downloads (up to 25 I think), but what I typically do is to upload my desired file to MULTIPLE browser windows open at the same time, and by the end, I have like 5 or 6 links to the file that I can post as backups! Try it! Not a lot of effort at all, and you don't have to sign up or download anything. Easy for a lazy bastage like myself, and everybody knows I hate using effort. It works. Hendrix's "Little Wing" but totally shreddied up! Even my brother (a Hendrix fan) enjoyed it! Great combination of technique, melody, and soul. You must absolutely rip in Severed Serenity with Steve.

Well the Severed Serenity stuff is much different so this is fun stuff to play. Thanx.

Here is a unmastered solo exerpt from the stuff we are doing now. Steve takes the first solo spot about 30 seconds in (I think he re-recorded it though) and I'm in at the 53 second spot. It's my longest solo so far.
