He`s a great player.. very articulate,
I was one of the online judges for Guitar Idol 2009.. I put him in my top ten choices for the final. although they were others I prefered
for other reasons.( I like my shredders a bit more on the metal side ) but regarding technique, vibrato tone songwriting etc.. he had it all.

I am talking about specific note selection. He grabs sweet spot notes all over the neck just like Eric does.
