  • Sound Control goes into Administration

I went into Nottingham city centre yesterday to find the shop closed. All the gear is still in there. I go round the corner to Drum & Guitar Centre who tell me SC have gone into Administration. I phone up SC's Leicester shop who tell me they're just downsizing and that I need to contact Head Office to chase any order that I've already put a deposit on. I've emailed HO and am yet to recieve a reply. Whether Leicester are fobbing me off I don't know. Just thought I'd warn anyone else who may've placed any orders.

I got an e-mail from Dolphin yesterday, it reads as follows...

          Sound Control/Turnkey go into Administration.

After many months of speculation and rumour it has been revealed today, 30th April 2008, that Sound Control, including Turnkey, have gone into administration.
At least 10 stores have already closed and unfortunately 100+ staff have been laid-off. At this time we have no further information, but what is quite clear is that any new or existing orders are unlikely to be fulfilled.
We take customer service very seriously at Dolphin Music, so in view of the demise of Sound Control, we will be increasing staffing levels this week & this weekend to ensure that we can meet the increased demand.
In view of the serious impact these events could have on customers who have placed orders in good faith, Dolphin Music would like to offer an advice service to any worried Sound Control or Turnkey customers. Anyone seeking advice on how to cancel a Sound Control or Turnkey order and ensure that they receive a refund should call the number below and one of our advisors will be happy to assist.
Any customers planning to make a purchase from Sound Control or Turnkey are equally welcome to call Dolphin Music and we will match or better the price offered by them.
For Sales or Advice please call Dolphin Music Sales: 0844 815 0888
Finally, the Dolphin Music team would like to express sympathy for all the staff that have lost their jobs as a result of these unfortunate events.

It's all your fault Wilks, with your tyre-kicking. You crushed their will to keep on trading. Look on the bright side, get your piggy bank out, if there's an administration sale, go and make insulting offers, and laugh as they are accepted.
(Not those kind of insulting offers, you pervert)
So I woke up,rolled over and who was lying next to me? Only Bonnie Langford!

            I nearly broke her back

Try £250. Rustle the cash, take the guitar home.

I'd be laughing if they agreed to that price!

I bought a GT Pro and an FC300 from them last week...thankfully I don't have any outstanding orders with them. Not sure how I feel about them going under, they're shite for part ex and their stock looks like it came straight out of the pages of an Argos catalogue, but...if you wanted anything ordering they'd do it without hiking the price (too much). Very sad for the staff, although their employee turnover rivalled Whitesnake.

I imagine they are with a finance company that Sound Control did business through. Read your agreement, it should have the name of the finance house on it. You did read it didn't you...

My brother tried a Schecter Hollywood Classic prototype and i went up to make an "insulting" for him.

Company is in recievership...keep an eye on the stock!

I'm assuming "Administration" means they've gone bankrupt?
