      It's actually Wolfmother.

And don't forget White Unicorn and Joker And The Thief by them. Great tunes.

As far as the Darkness goes, I always preferred "Love on the Rocks with No Ice" to "A Thing Called Love", but I don't think they ever released it as a single.

we play that, and Best of You.

Everlong is always a crowd-pleaser if you have a drummer who can pull it off.

Thanks everyone for the replies. Time to do some research.

I seem to remember a Stonesy/Black Crowes type of band that did OK recently, but I cant remember the name. Anybody know who I'm talking about?

Jet are actually pretty good at what they do. Their songs are catchy, and simple.

I'd recommend songs from both Jet and Wolfmother. I'd start with "Cold Hard Bitch" from Jet and "Woman" from Wolfmother.

Now, I'll browse through iTunes and find some more recommendations. OK, here you go:
                            1. Audioslave (Show Me How to Live)
                            2. Disturbed
                            3. Drowning Pool (Bodies)
                            4. Foo Fighters (All My Life)
                            5. Godsmack
                            6. Kenny Wayne Shepherd
                            7. Los Lonely Boys
                            8. Nickelback (Never Again)
                            9. Puddle of Mudd
                            10. Saliva (Pride)
                            11. Shadows Fall
                            12. Staind
                            13. The Vines (Get Free)

Good luck...we finally gave up playing the new stuff and went back to almost exclusively 80's. For awhile we were playing Nickelback, Papa Roach, Godsmack, Staind, etc. Decent stuff, but just not us. For aging 80's rockers (me included), there just isn't that much stuff out there today that's appealing.

We do like doing some early 90's stuff though (AIC, STP) and it goes over well with most crowds. When you get your set list done post it so we can tell you everything that's wrong with it.
