  • Help! I'm a Dunce!

Can someone please walk me through the main chord riff
of "Don't Fear the Reaper?" A-G-F, right? My fingers can't figure out
    how to do it...
I do the A minor, the A to G pulloff, then G, then the pull off, and I
can't past that point for the turnaround.
Am I doing it wrong? This has bugged me for decades...

    Thanks.
    Signed,
    Dunce for the Day

This is it exactly. The key is to let the open G string ring out through the entire passage. BTW.. the A to G is not a pull off. Its a standard downstroked picked note.

Yep, that's how I have always played it. I have seen Buck play it that way as well.

I personally do not care how it was built as long as it is a good playing/sounding instrument.

Ok,right. I was hearing a lot more there than there really was,
for some reason. And I wasn't pulling off, I just thought I was.

I've known the leads forever, I just kept getting tripped up of the chord riff.

          Thanks, jg & chas...

thanks for this John. cool to know.

isn't that first riff/chord, as you show it there, an A5?

Can someone tab out the cowbell?

I never noticed the cowbell before that now that is the main instrument in the song for me.

I was going to ask that next.
I'm still working on the first chord.
