    Jacksonite is near there.

You could also visit Britney Spears' home

I was born and raised in Shreveport. I currently live in Bossier City. Give me an idea of the things you like to do and I'll drop some hints. If I didn't already have weekend plans, I'd give you the cheapy tour.

Basically drinking , and eating are the hobbies . If you could recommend some good local food joints , and some live music. Much appreciated

If you like to eat and drink plus do a little shopping, the "new" Louisiana Boardwalk on the riverfront is pretty cool. It has a huge cinema, Bass Pro Shop, Hooter's, Joe's Crab Shack, and plenty of clothing stores.

"Live" entertainment is a hit or miss type of thing. My best advice is to grab a Friday addition of The Shreveport Times and check their schedule. Other than that, Horseshoe Casino's Oak Creek Lounge usually has good bands on Friday and Saturday. Each of the casinos, El Dorado, Horseshoe, Harrah's, Diamond Jacks, has live entertainment on the weekends and it's free. Like I said, the quality is hit or miss.

My best advice is to hit The Boardwalk.

Isn't Kentwood (Britney's hometown) near Baton Rouge, not Shreveport? Shreveport's the very northwest corner of the state wheras Baton Rouge is only 60 miles NW of New Orleans.

I know, Newc, you're joking. But all those years in Tennessee have made you hazy on your Louisiana geography!
