Pretty esoteric stuff, but Wes Robinson passed away...

Why is that significant, you ask? Ruthie's is where Bay Area thrash metal really took off, and Wes was one of the only guys that would let bands like Exodus, Possessed (w/ Larry LaLonde of Primus in his metal days!), Megadeth, Metal Church, Death Angel, Slayer - you name 'em, they played there, a regular CBGB's of thrash. Metallica was already too big to play there, but you could find them at the "bar" (if that's what you wanted to call it) knoking down one or 10, holding court on nights they weren't playing. A sad day, it was the best $5 a kid would ever spend for a show. May he rest in peace....
