  • Saving passwords in Windows...how?

You know when you first visit a forum and type in your username and password and Windows asks if you want to save it so all you have to do next time you log in is to type the first letter of your username and everything automatically fills in?

Well, if you clicked "no" the first time how do you get Windows bring that prompt back? Is there an IE setting where you can enter the username and password for a particular url?

I'm lazy and don't like typing.

I know that, but after clearing the cookies and cache (which I do regularly), then I have to log in again and Windows only prompts you once for a particular url.

One of my good friends wrote that feature

Fire up IE, choose 'Internet Options' from the 'Tools' menu.
          Click on the 'Content' tab.
          Click on the 'AutoComplete' button.

There is a checkbox labeled 'Prompt me to save passwords'.

Also, Ie7 is here guys, where's the thread on that? All you IE "haters"" need to look at IE7 vs firefox cause some of the old complaints might not be there now. Of course haters always be hatin'

For passwords in general, http://www.roboform.com/ is pretty cool. I dont personally use it, but my web addicted coworkers use it to fill out forms automatically and only have to remember a master password - even though each site you visit will get a unique hacker unfriendly password.
