  • Doing dishes/playing guitar

    Hey guys,
I know you're supposed to clean your hands before playing your guitar, so food oils and grease don't get all over your strings and fretboard. But if I do a lot of dishes, and my hands get that dry sorta dish-washed feeling...I feel like it's no better to play guitar with them like that. What's your opinion?

    Cheers,
    Nick

    I'd quit doing dishes then

Only if I wear an apron and make sure I know where the cord is.

Just don't scratch your ass and then grab a guitar.

I'm confused...every time I open the dishwasher when its on it stops so I'm not following how your hands get clean from doing dishes....

If I get inside my dishwasher, is there a handle in there so I can get out?

In Montana, I hate you, they don't have dishwashers. They let the cattle lick the plates clean.:ROTF: :ROTF:

I've never owned or had a dish washing machine in my 43 years of life.
                      (Does the wife count?)
Just clean as you go and you won't have a pile of dishs.
I always try to remember to wash my hands before playing or let anybody play my guitars.
I don't like my hands all dryed out when playing.

Oh, and don't forget to use some moisterising cream.

I feel festive all year round. Deal with it.

I always used to wash my hands before I did the dish-washer. Something about nasty fungal infections induced from dirty fingernails I think. Then she left me.
So I woke up,rolled over and who was lying next to me? Only Bonnie Langford!

                            I nearly broke her back

'moisterising cream'- it's easier to spell it 'KY'.
